Here’s a step by step guide on how to use our Mist:
1. Make sure your skin is clean and exfoliated before applying the mist. Don’t apply moisturizer or body oil as this can prevent the tan from developing evenly. We recommend exfoliating at least 24 hours prior to using self-tan as that could affect how well your skin absorbs the tan. Don't exfoliate right before your self-tan!
2. Next, shake the bottle well and hold it about a foot away from your skin. Slowly mist your body, making sure to evenly coat all areas.

Side note: One of the great things about the Peta Jane Beauty Self-Tanning Mist is that it’s buildable. This means you can apply multiple layers for a deeper tan. Just wait at least 10 minutes between each application.
4. After applying the mist, let it develop over a period of 6 to 8 hours. Be sure to avoid showering or sweating during this time as this can make your tan streaky and uneven.
5. When you’re ready to shower, simply wash off the tan with lukewarm water and pat yourself dry with a dark towel. This will reveal your beautiful, natural-looking tan. Be sure to moisturize daily to maintain your glowing skin.
We recommend not using soap or a washcloth for your first rinse to avoid stripping the tan. Certain body soaps will alter the PH of your skin and turn the tan orange or cause it to fade quicker than it should.
